Hi I'm Dawn, married to Mick with one daughter Dannii. I’ve always been reasonably creative but in the last few years been getting into Scrapbooking & Cardmaking a lot more seriously. I love anything to do with papercrafting, and I know I am going to enjoy sharing my love of rubber stamping with papercrafters all over the UK.
ILWS Inspiration and Theme challenge 22, Kates inspiration piece is a dress from Mini Boden - its Wimbldeon fortnight so it had to be strawberry themed!! I'm afraid there isn't a strawberry in sight on my card but we are only supposed to be taking inspiration from the picture :0)

Its a fabulous set, I love it, this was a set I really wasn't sure about buying when I first saw it, but the more I saw examples of finished cards the more I thought I 'needed' it - I didn't buy it in the end I swapped it for a stamp set that I bought early on thinking I'd use it more than I actually did, think I used one of the stamps, once - turns out good swap coz I'm in lurve, I think I'll use this one loads ...
This time I went over to A Passion for Papertrey run by Steph and Kate, I love their work and their challenges. This time the challenge is to make a card with at least two flowers on it using at least one papertrey product - thanks to the Papertrey ladies I a few PTI products to play with and I came up with this ...
I tried to use all Papertrey products, only the rub-on is not Papertrey its Stampin Up. I'm still new to Papertrey so I'm not 100% with the products so I'm guessing on the colours used: Card - Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush Patterned Paper - Green Tea Leaves Ribbon - Swiss Dot Satin in Dark Chocolate and Aqua Mist, Saddle stitched Sweet Blush Buttons - From Sweet Blush and Dark Chocolate Collection.
The flowers were made up following the instructions from Dawn McVey's blog, she's a wonderful inspiration, if you get a chance pop over and have a look.
I'm lucky that Kate and Steph have been willing to share some of their stash with me so I could have a play, it did however mean a rather large order on the 15th of this month LOL - I think I could become addicted ;0)
Its been a while since I had time to enter a challenge, and I've really missed them and the time in my craft room. I hope that now DD has started her basic training in the RAF I can find some time to craft ;0)
Anyway the challenge, its the Stamp with Us challenge, it was a recipe and the recipe: 4x Patterned papers, 2 x Card Stock and No other embellishments which sounds pretty easy until you start to work - I didn't realise how much I love my embellishments until I couldn't use them!
I've made this with a friend on ILWS in mind, will pop it in the post this afternoon.

I made this card for my beautiful daughters birthday last week - she was 20, she then went off on holiday to Spain the same day I got back from my holiday and it had been hidden/tidied, so this is the first chance I've had to take a photo of it!
Recipe:
Stamps: Hero Arts - Japanese Dolls Cardstock: Stampin Up Pink Passion, Only Orange, Certainly Celery, Whisper White Ribbon: Pink Satin from Stash Ink: SUPink Passion, Only Orange, Certainly Celery, Basic Black DSP: Dovecraft: Wild Blossom Rub Ons: BasicGrey - Wholy Cow! I fell in love with this set, I actually asked one of my friends Steph to stamp me a couple of images to use which she did of course, thanks Steph ;0) but I loved them so much I had to run out and buy the set anyway LOL, I had such fun playing ... I especially enjoyed embossing, I stamped the image in black ink and then covered in clear embossing powder, knocked off the excess powder and heat embossed. It really makes the image pop, especially the girls hair.
The challenge is to create a circle card or notecard, this is my creation, what do you think? I don't have many PTI supplies so I have only included PTI ribbons some of the pink and green.
Recipe:
Stamps: Penny Black - Flying Stars Cardstock: Stampin Up Pretty in Pink Ribbon: Various including PTI, but unsure of names of colours Ink: SU Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, So Saffron
