SWU – Sketch Challenge.

This weeks Stamp With Us challenge is a sketch challenge, we had a sketch (see below) to work from, this time I’ve used a stamp set that I’ve not used for such a looooong time, ‘Simply Said’, its one of the first sets I bought when I discovered Stampin Up – Its a gorgeous set!

Do you know what reminded me it existed out of all the sets I own? It’s the upcoming March Promotion – Perfect Pairs – Simply Said/ NEW Full Heart Punch, I know I didn’t use any of the heart stamps from this set, But I do love those flowers and believe me I will be using them more now that I have rediscovered them, and once I get my punch I’ll be using the hearts more too :O)

Anyway, here is my card ...

Leaving Baroque Butterflies.

I was asked to make a card for a colleague that's leaving work next week. My spec - make it pink, well I wouldn’t have a problem with that would I … and as she’s on reception and knows everyone, I had to create a lot of signing space …

012

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Flight of the Butterfly
Cardstock: Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Whisper White
Mediums- Versomark, Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa
Embellishments: Circle fire rhinestone brads and Filigree designer brads, 1/2” Pretty in pink striped grosgrain, 5/8” Regal Rose grosgrain, 3/8” pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, plus various others from stash.
Tools: Butterfly punch, Paper piercer, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Paper cutter and scorer, Nestability, Snail adhesive, silicon glue.

011

Each of the backing sheets has its own signing sheet which has been sent around the departments and will be adhered to the card when complete, that way the actual card doesn’t get grubby.  I’ve also stamped and punched out lots of colour coordinated butterflies to adhere to the back pages when complete.

013

The girls on reception loved it, I hope the recipient loves it just as much!

Sale-A-Bration Thank You.

After much cajolling(sp) I have finally done my first demo. Met up with a group of scrapbookers and card makers in St Leonards on Sea. I can't believe how scared I was, I think my knees were actually knocking at the start, I know I was shaking like a leaf but I had everything prepared and reasonably well rehearsed and afterwards they told me that they enjoyed both the demo and the make and take.

As a thank you I made a small gift for the lady (Jane) who invited me to do the demonstration.

002

A small decorated gift bag, decorated candle, notebook and card.  All co-ordinating and made using the fantastic Sale-a-bration stamp set ‘Happy Moments’ which is my current FAVOURITE stamp set :O)

(BIG thank you to Blue Jelly who originally designed the giftbag, card and candle) I couldn’t think straight with my nerves and this set was ideal.  The notebook grew from that idea …

005

Stamps – Happy Moments
Cardstock – Kraft, Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip
Mediums –
Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black

Embellishments – 1” Rose Red double stitched, & 5/8 Regal rose grosgrain ribbon,  Linen thread, Latte Designer Buttons.
Tools – Eyelet border.

008

I cannot believe how easy the candles are to do, it only took me 10 minutes to complete! so easy I might even do a tutorial :O)

A few pics of the ladies at work …

011010

I really enjoyed my evening, and cannot believe just how scared I was of a group of ladies, who after all are all together in one place for the same reason as me - the love of crafting.
