Butterfly CASE

I haven’t been around for a while, I have excuses galore but the biggest being family illness and working full-time. That just doesn’t leave much time for crafting and getting inky :(  But when I do want to craft, why is it I can’t find my mojo?  I had cards galore to make, no mojo, not much time, but plenty of inspiration ...

I remembered this card created by Teneale Williams, in fact its been in the back of my mind for ages, ever since I saw it while blog hopping a few weeks ago.  I knew I had to CASE it

There wasn’t much I didn’t copy to be honest, the only things I changed were the colours, DSP and I added a sentiment.  The design is pure Teneale – isn’t it gorgeous ... and now I’m going to be really honest, I made FOUR of these babies, once I started I couldn’t stop!

Then I took it a step further, and made another four! But this time in A6 rather than A5, so a little smaller

I’ve only pictured six, because two have already gone out ...

Shoebox swap project

One of the few projects I’ve been prepping and unable to show previously is a shoebox swap I’m attending today.  This is my project, its a simple one because there are 16 projects to get through in a reasonably short timescale.

Instructions for the 4 ladies who are completing their projects from home and unable to attend in person

  1. Cut an aperture using the largest nestability from labels one in the centre of one half of the Kraft cardstock (cardstock has been pre-cut to 12.5cm x 25cm and pre-scored)
  2. Pierce all round the aperture using a mat stack and paper piercer
  3. Stamp up the large white piece of cardstock using the YOF: Mums stamp set (I used Old Olive, Ruby Red and Melon Mambo)
  4. Stamp a sentiment onto the centre of the smaller white piece of cardstock using a coordinating colour medium
  5. Adhere the small white cardstock to the terracotta tile cardstock.
  6. Adhere item 5. behind the aperture as shown in the picture using dimensionals.
  7. Adhere the stamped up large white cardstock behind the aperture using dimensionals.
  8. Stamp up each of the flowers using Dot Spot (I used a versamark pad)
  9. Adhere the the smaller flower onto the larger using a glue dot or other sticking medium.
  10. Cut Vs into the ends of the ribbon, fold into a V and adhere to the back of the flowers using glue dots
  11. Thread up the buttons using either twine or colour coordinated floss
  12. Adhere one of the buttons to the flowers using a glue dot
