Hi I'm Dawn, married to Mick with one daughter Dannii. I’ve always been reasonably creative but in the last few years been getting into Scrapbooking & Cardmaking a lot more seriously. I love anything to do with papercrafting, and I know I am going to enjoy sharing my love of rubber stamping with papercrafters all over the UK.
Colour substitutes can be used if you don't have or use Stampin Up markers, ink or cardstock.
Please come on over and join me and take part in this challenge - remember to quote ILWSCC262 when uploading your card/layout/project.

Not really a cheat doubling up? I'll try to get another one made this week, but I know I've got a busy one, I'm trying to catch up on housework etc after my 'sick' week :(
I didn't get much done in the way of scrapping or card making this week due to illness, I wasn't a well bunny at all :( so I don't have much to post at all, this is a layout I made last week before I fell ill:
Its once again for the UKS weekly challenge, it was set last week by the Blooming Pages who set 'Love' as the theme, any interpretation - 10 points include pearls - 10 points and recycle something - 10 points
Recipe: (All Stampin Up unless stated)
Cardstock (textured) - Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue DSP - Love Stories Die Cuts - Love Stories
In fact everything came from a Stampin Up Simply Scrappin scrapbooking kit, it makes life so easy to create a co-ordinated page in minutes.
Well I definately had a Love theme, included pearls and recycled some of the cardstock from a Wedding Anniversary Card I made DH earlier this year - so once again I claimed full points for my team ;O)
I'll be working on this week's challenge this evening.
I don't scrapbook nearly as often as I would like to, so I've promised myself that if nothing else I will take part in UKScrappers weekly challenge EVERY WEEK starting this week:
The challenge was set this week is by the Ruby Slippers, and their challenge is:
Patrick Stewart, Harrison Ford and Erno Rubik were all born on 13th July so we would like you to use stars (for Star Wars and Star Trek) and/or squares (for the famous Rubik cube). Each option is worth 5 points.
On 16th July 1969 the United States, launched the Apollo 11 spacecraft at the start of its mission to land men on the moon. To honour this mission we would like you to leave 'white space' on your LO. This is worth 5 points.
On 17th July 1964, British speed pioneer Sir Donald Campbell sets a new land speed world record of 429mph in his car, Bluebird, so add the colour blue and/or birds to your LO. This is worth 5 points for each to a maximum of 10pts.
And finally as Silverstar and her DH are both celebrating their birthdays this week we would like you to include a celebration in your LO for 5 pts.
Heres my submission:
I managed to include all the challenge elements - so full points for to my team the Rockin Ribbon Raiders ;o)
Recipe: (SU unless stated)
Cardstock: 12x12 Blue Bazzill, Elegant Eggplant DSP: Fancy Papers (Crush) by Michelle Coleman Stamps: Baroque Motifs and Wild About You Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Taken with Teal, Yoyo Yellow Brads: Stars (from stash)
During the second session we played with Nestabilities, I bought my Big Shot back in April and haven't played with it that much so these workshops are brilliant for me, they really give me an insight into what I can do with my tools :O)
First card we made
The card was cut out using a Nestability, so was the flower! Isn't it FAB - I am going to be making these until they come out of my ears I swear .... they are adorable .... and so easy.
Really quick and easy card, but Paula showed us how to make a Scallop card using the Nesties I can't believe how easy it is - the workshop was so worth the money just for that!
The last project was this lovely little box, all cut out of little square nesties, and then stuck together. On the top of the box is another little nestie (circle) flower. I've used the little box as a gift box for a pot of lip balm for DD, another little 'pick me up' gift for her. This one is one its way to her this week ;o)
I attended a workshop a little while ago run by the fabulous Paula Pascual the first session was Impressabilities: making cards with those lovely intricate embossing templates, they look so fragile you wouldn't believe you can put them through a Big Shot and they can survive, but they do, and they did - Here's what I made in the workshop:
I didn't quite get time to finish this card, and completely forgot until now that I still haven't finished it! - All it needs is a few square diamontes across the middle band - Will rectify that tomorrow. Isn't it a beautiful card, and so simple to make. I love that die.
Another Christmas Card, I love that we made Christmas Cards, gives me more ideas for this Christmas - I have so many to make. This one looks really complicated but once you have the design I promise you its easy - I managed to smudge the 'perfect pearls' I need something to 'set' them - anyone got any ideas?
I really, really love the template we used on this card, unfortunately they didn't have one left in the shop so I have to add it to my 'wish list', the die is gorgeous too :O)
Recipe:
Designer Papers: My Minds Eye - Pretty Please Collection Cardstock: Bazzill: Various colours (not noted, sorry) Impressabilities: Flowers, Snowflakes Dies: Cuttlebug Cut & Emboss 3x3 Combo Ice Crystal Spellbinders Nestabilities - Classic Scallop Circle Large, Scallop Square Large. Spellbinders Shapeabilities - Flower Creations. Inks: Brilliance Pad Black Starlite, Versafine Black Perfect Pearls: Pearl and Perfect Gold.
All the cards we made were so easy once we were shown what to do, Paula is a great teacher.
I'll post pictures of the cards and the little box we made in the session tomorrow.
I joined Dawn Rapsas' UStamp again, I love all the projects, there are so many fantastic ideas, this is a take on one of the projects designed by Linda Hansen
Its for DD who has just requested more family photos - she's recently joined the RAF and didn't take many photos with her because she didn't want to make herself too homesick ;o)
I had to make a few alterations to the original instructions as the wallet wasn't quite thick enough to take eight photos, but it was easy enough to change. There's some fab projects posted already. Will try to get some more completed and posted ...
The instructions used the Top Note Bigz die which I don't have :( but I loved the look .... thinking cap on .... I used my craftrobo instead, not exact but very similar ;o)
I have to show you this photo of one of our cats I took this afternoon, this is Polo, he's 16 and very forgetful, today he forgot to put his tongue away LOL
The challenge over on A Passion for Papertrey is to use buttons - how easy is that! I've seen loads of cards recently using buttons as flowers so I had a go and I'm really pleased with the result, so much so that I'm going to make a whole set of these ...
Recipe: (All PTI unless stated)
Stamps: Floral Frenzy Cardstock: Scarlet Jewel , Old Olive (SU), Whisper White (SU) Ink: Scarlet Jewel, Old Olive (SU) Buttons: Scarlett Jewel and stash
I meant to take a picture inside the card too but forgot, will take more pics tomorrow ...
So I went upstairs as soon as I got home this afternoon to make a card for this weeks challenge over on Stamp with Us, the theme is Children. Well I got carried away, well away ... and the card I made has nothing what so ever to do with children!
You like it? I went to photograph it, and realised it could be laid out either way ...
