This one I know I CASed … when I find what/where I CASed I’ll post the link ...

Wow, that tree has SO MUCH POTENTIAL

Since I dusted off the laptop … or visited the craft room
But as I’m banned from buying any greeting card I HAD to get in there to replenish my stock of cards, the first of which HAD to be Mother’s Day Cards … Its Mother’s Day this Sunday in the UK. Luckily the 2 mum’s in question don’t talk/see each other so I could make the same for each :O)

I have to say I LOVE this stamp, it speaks to me … as do the freebie papers … wish I could afford more … hmmm I have a few weeks still to place another order :O)
But I have been a busy bee just recently :O) A few items CASed and a few more DT creations … oh did I say DT??
I needed birthday card for the boss this week, my mojo is virtually non-existent so I CASed this card I had pinned on Pinterest by Nichol Heady
I’m really quite pleased with the result
A good while ago I said I’d post pictures of my craft room when it was finished ... well after a very busy Christmas break decorating ... its not 100% complete but its nearly there!
Before
There really wasn’t much wrong with my room before but it was very dark and I had some serious lighting issues out of daylight hours.
So Christmas Eve, we started stripping ... wallpaper
During
We took the walls back as far as we could, but they were still in terrible condition so we had to re-paper. Hubby (Mick) did almost all the work ...
Glossing
Re-papering and painting
Re-flooring
With the new furniture built and a few items put back on the wall
After
The room is so much lighter now and once I get used to the space and move the rest of my stash in (I can’t wait to get organised) I know it will be even more functional than it was before. We’ve still got some work to do, Mick is going to attach a small shelf going all the way round the room, then build me a new ink storage unit and I’m hoping a ribbon and button one too – then we replace the Ikea 4x4 unit for an Ikea 5x5.
What a fantastic Christmas Present!!!
I’m still not tired of this colour combo ...
And this little card has been made up in time to participate in A Passion for Papertrey’s challenge ... to create a Christmas/Holiday card using red and white :O)
These were made up to go with the tags I made last week, and they look so much prettier IRL
Stamps: Tag It #8 and #3, Love lies here
Cardstock: SU Real Red, crumb cake, PTI Stampers Select
Mediums: SU Real Red, PTI Fresh snow
Embellishments: Pure Poppy satin ribbon, rhinestone and stickles
Tools: Big Shot, snowflake from Doily Detals collection, 1 3-4 circle from 1 3-4 limitless layers, 1 3-8 Stampin Up punch, Dimonsionals
I had great fun putting these together
Come back later in the week and I’ll show you some more red & white cards ... I really have got carried away with this colour theme ...
I’m still on my quest to complete my Christmas Tags and a one I’ve made today could be entered into the Waltzingmouse Christmas Tag Challenge.
I’ve used a fabulous 2011 Heirloom Ornaments die cut (the largest), sponged in white, stamped with WMS Text-It and snowflakes from PTI Tag Its #8 in whisper white and real red. The small feature label is stamped with one of WMS 2011 Holiday Ornaments stamps and the sentiment is from PTIs Holiday Button Bits. The ribbon is stampin up ruffle ribbon coloured with red copic marker.
I’m loving this look, just a little vintagey … I’ve a fair few of these on the go.
The reason I’m not paper-crafting as much, and rarely posting now … I even struggle to keep up with the blog hopping I used to do (for hours on end)
That although it doesn’t look like it was my second attempt at crocheting (btw its a scarf, but doesn’t it look pretty all rolled up like that)
I can make one of these babies up now in 2/3 evenings.
I’ve just learnt how to make flowers! I love the flowers – and so simple ...
In between those (and there have been a few more scarves in other colours) I’m crocheting a Babette blanket, which is 100s of granny squares in varying sizes.
I got the inspiration to give crocheting a go from KatieJane (Am I a dreamer), just seeing and reading about her creations and how quickly they were appearing on her blog – I just had to give it a go!
I really can’t tell you how rewarding it is to see something grow so quickly and to know you’ve created it – If you haven’t yet discovered crochet and fancy giving it a go, you only need to start with one hook and a ball of wool. There are loads of tutorials online, but I’d recommend Crochet Geek, her tutorials are amazingly easy to follow.
Red and White seems to be my Christmas theme this year, I think almost every card I’ve created has been based around these colours.
I am a traditional girl, my tree is red and gold … the ornaments not the tree :O) and it just doesn’t feel right using colours other than the red, green, white, gold, silver ...
With that in mind I’ve made a start on my tags
What do you think? I recon once I get a bit of an assembly line going I could get a few of these made, I might change a few elements now and then
These tags are made of nearly all Papertrey ingredients I think it was just the ribbon (SU) and bakers twine (stash) which weren't.
And yes, that is my tree – its actually been up for over a week already ... I Love Christmas and my tree.
I’ll upload some pictures later this week of the tree and I’ll be back tomorrow with some pictures of the real reason why I haven’t been posting for a while ... my new hobby, just for Katiejane:O)
