ILWS Card Swap 6

Another card for a swap on ILWS, for group 2, I have completed the cards for group 1, but as they haven’t received them yet I will wait to post the piccies ;0)

This is a variation on a card I made way back in January which is a variation of the card on the front of the Stampin Up catalogue, I love the patchwork look!

I used:

Stamps: Thanks so Much from Greets Eight (Mini Catalogue)

Card Stock: Chocolate Chip

Designer Series Paper: Washington Apple (Mini Catalogue)

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Ribbon: Chocolate Chip Taffeta

Brads: Silver Brad from the Stampin Up Hodgepodge Hardware Collection

Punch: Scallop Edge

Supplies: Clear Embossing Powder, Stamp-a-ma-jig

It was a reasonably easy card to make and didn’t use as much designer series paper and cardstock as it looks.

1. First cut your cardstock to form A6 card

2. Then cut 7 different 45mm squares from the designer series papers

3. Decide which is going to be your ‘backing’ designer series paper and cut another piece 90mm x 30mm – now punch along the long edge using the scallop punch

4. Now select one of the lighter squares, and using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up your stamp, stamp your image, cover with clear embossing powder, tap away excess and heat to emboss.

5. Take your 45mm backing DSP, and a co-ordinating 45mm DSP, place the co-ordinating DSP over the backing DSP. Adhere the two pieces of paper together on two right-angle edges only.

6. Fold the top right hand edge over, pierce a hole using a paper piercer and insert a co-ordinating brad.

7. Select 45mm square to wrap co-ordinating ribbon round, using double sided sticky tape to secure – You could tie a knot or bow for added interest.

8. Arrange your 45mm squares and scallop edge and adhere to cardstock.

I've received all the cards in the swap now, will take some photos this afternoon and post them tomorrow.
